Powering up for the planet with The Conservation Volunteers

Come rain or shine, we’re committed to giving back to our local community. Across two days in June, colleagues from our London office partnered with The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) at Ingestre Woods and Estate in North London to reopen a forgotten community space.

Timed to coincide with World Environment Day, our teams from across the business tackled a variety of jobs to revitalize this urban green space. While some battled torrential rain and others enjoyed the early summer sun – both teams showed exceptional commitment and energy, making a big impact on the ground.

Creating lasting impact in our local community

Ingestre Woods is a unique space that provides a green corridor through an urban area. With ponds, meadows, hedgerows and an orchard, the space supports both the local ecosystem and community’s wellbeing.

With expert guidance from the TCV team, our volunteers took part in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Installing signage
  • Building baskets to protect the fruit trees
  • Pruning and improving the hedgerows
  • Clearing a lot of shrubbery!

It was great to see everyone roll up their sleeves and take pride in the tangible results of their efforts.

A proud example of our volunteering culture

Across our businesses, we actively encourage colleagues to use their two annual volunteering days to support causes that align with our values. This event was a fantastic example of that in action.
